In Seattle, school has not come back into session, as five thousand teachers are on strike. They are fighting for higher wages and better treatment, and have many of the parents on board with them. I'm sure the students are completely fine with this situation as well. An agreement is still trying to be reached between the teachers and the district.
Analysis: It is great to see a large group of people congregate like this fight for better treatment. It has a familiar feeling to some of the things I have been learning in history class. It is much like the rebellion of the English colonies. They were highly unappreciated by the English, and decided that they deserved better, rebelling against the nefarious English, despite their beautiful British accents. While I highly doubt the teachers will announce war with the Seattle school district, sieging them with cannons and muskets, they are fighting for very similar circumstances. They believe they have been mistreated and deserve better.

I think it's great that the teachers are so willing to fight for their right. I liked the comparison that you made between the Seattle teachers and English colonists. The connection made a lot of sense and it really enhanced the importance of the situation because, honestly, look at the effects of the colonists' uprising. This strike could spark something that could change our nation's whole look on educational policy.

I think it's great that the teachers are fighting for what the believe in (a higher salary) Teachers in other countries are regarded with very high respects while here, even students treat teachers poorly. Maybe this will cause teachers in this nation as a whole have higher pay and respect from others..
