Aspirin for Cancer? - Bennett Copley 8th

Aspirin has been prescribed by doctors for years to treat pain, arthritis, fever and even has been used to lower risk of having a heart attack. But recently an expert panel of doctors has begun recommending Aspirin as a way to treat colon cancer. Although Aspirin is recommended for a slightly specific age group, 50-70, a low dosage has been shown to lower the risk of having a stroke, heart-attack, and getting colon cancer.

All the time people think of new ways to use old stuff, such as the usage of bread, which is as old as time its self, to make the sandwich. It is interesting how multipurpose some things are that you wouldn't expect to have so many different usages, such as a bandana. A bandana can be used to bind a wound, filter water, it can be torn into strips, it can be used to wipe things down, and as most people know, it looks pretty cool when you wear it on various parts of your body. Some medicines have the same effect, Aspirin being one of them, it is, in essence, a panacea. It pretty much just makes you feel better no matter the ailment, and apparently now even cancer.

  1. I find it interesting that such a generic medicine such as Aspirin can treat colon cancer. I like how you compared it to things that have many uses. Personally I don't use Aspirin but it will be interesting to see the results of experiments where Aspirin treats colon cancer.
