A 3-month-old tiger cub found wandering the streets of a California town has been taken to a shelter for exotic animals. Before being found by a woman who found him walking the streets of her neighborhood in Hemet, the cub was seen drinking water out of a plastic bin and wandering the Ramona Humane Society of San Jacinto facility. The tiger was driven 70 miles to the Forever Wild Exotic Animal Sanctuary in Phelan which currently houses eight adult tigers, including a rare white tiger. The veterinarians at the facility determined that the cub had been suffering from a hernia in his abdomen, which will require surgery to remove. A recent update from an expert with the sanctuary says that the cub appears to be "In good condition, in high spirits."It was an exciting day today at Ramona Humane Society. As an open admission shelter we except all animals including this tiger found in our community.

ReplyDeleteI wish the article elaborated more on how the tiger cub came to wander the streets. I hope the cub is okay!
kenley turner- I think I would be scared to try to handle a tiger cub! Or did she call someone to pick it up instead?

ReplyDeletei think its great that these people took the animal into care when it was suffering, however i really hope that they released the animal back into the wild and did not decide to make the cub live in a cage the rest of its life.
