summary: Starting next year US will be taking in 15,000 more refugees from around the world increasing the amount from 85,000 to 100,000. We are taking in the refugees migrating in from Syria because the need to help is desperate. US Secretary John Kerry is the one who has proposed the idea. Some countries do not agree with our decision to help and think it is dangerous and unnecessary.
MORE REFUGEES IN AMERICA
Analysis: Though this can be a dangerous thing to do because of terrorism and other acts that others have done, America can not assume that every thing we do for others will end with chaos. We have to begin making alliances and becoming friends with other countries so that we can stop looking like a threat to them. This is the only way that we can begin to open up and not be scared of every other country because we have scarier problems to deal with right now in America.
Bernadette Negrete: i'm glad the US has decided to let more people in but is the wait really required. Think of how many people the US will be able to save if they open their doors now and not in the next year. The wait is unnecessary, hundredths of people come into the us a day, while not let in a couple more. The US is always gonna be under treat of a terrorist, just like any one is going to be under the threat f dying. Its inevitable. Let the refuges in, and quickly .
ReplyDeleteI know I'm stereotyping, but this actually is really scary. This could be dangerous economically, socially, and health wise. I think it is a great idea in theory but not in practice, but we will see.

Matthew Homsher 9th- We should send the refugees in immediate danger to Guam, so we can protect them while they wait to get sent through the various background checks. That way we can keep them from technically coming into the US if they're dangerous and protect them simultaneously. It also won't bring too much danger to Guam either because almost everyone there is US military.
ReplyDeletePaisley Norburg- We should not let refugees in. This is how these horrible issues with non US citizens migrating here, and making chaos happen. We need to better watch the borders around us and keep people out unless they are a citizen.
ReplyDeleteI think that is awesome that the US is doing that but it could create some issues. It could cause citizens of the United States to grow angry and it could potentially cause a threat or conflict.
