Sebastian Nino, 5th period: US's Arctic Spy Network?
Recently China and Russia have been increasing their presence in the North, specifically the arctic region due to the fact that it's resource rich, their heavy presence has mad e the US become very nervous that their might be a threat in the North. The US hasn't had to believe that we faced any threat from the arctic since the Cold War, but for safety reasons we have began to watch the North with satellites and other means of spying.
This situation reminds me of the paranoia that we faced during the Cold War, specifically with incidents such as the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Personally my opinion of this situation is very indifferent due to the fact that there isn't that much to go on, so I'm just gunna wait it out and see what happens before I choose to comment on this situation. --Sebastian Nino, 5th Period

ReplyDelete-Heather Hatch 8th period:
ReplyDeleteI agree in the point that it should be a wait and see sort of situation. Since our past conflicts with the North have been pretty huge I think it's a good idea that we are watching them since some sort of unrest or threat has been posed.
