Summary: Today an Alabama prosector says a suspect has been charged with three attempted murders. This murder involved a woman, an infant, an a pastor inside an Alabama Church. James Minter, the shooter, was arrested around 11 am at a church in East Selma, Alabama. Note that East Selma is not James’ age nor his hometown, making things look very spectacle. More details about the victims is that the woman, supposedly Minter’s girlfriend is black, the pastor is white, and the infant was black. Minter said that this issue comes from a “domestic issue” between him and his girlfriend, not race. This issue is still being investigated and James in being held as the Dallas County Jail.
Analysis: In my opinion this subject has nothing to do with race, but with a personal dispute between the man and his girlfriend. Until further details are given, I cannot make an inference or have an opinion on the victim or the suspect. Although I don’t agree with the setting of the church being the place where this happened, I do feel like the couple could have solved their problems in different ways. Clearly, the suspect has mental problems that are larger than the couple just resolving there problems, and the fact that he is now going to jail is probably best for everyone.
