New Dallas Restuarnt Calls BS on Companies that wont employ Special-Needs People- Bernadette Negrete 9th

Summary: Tom Landis ,the owner of two successful restaurants, declares that special need people deserve and need jobs and well as able people. HE has called out companies who think special needs people are just liabilities. In his restaurant he has employed many special needs people and is trying to start another restaurant just for special needs people to get jobs. People of the community thinks it adventurous to do so but he is already preparing for the start-up cost.

Analysis :Tom Landis restaurant idea is fantastic for the special needs community and its admirable that he is really wanting to start this off. He has called out all these other companies for something he really believes is wrong and it is. Special needs people aren't liabilities . They are human beings that deserve all the respect and love as other people.  i think the the opening of this restaurant will spread the word tremendously. It will show people that its not weird or wrong to hire theses people because in reality, their just people. This article contains pictures and quotes from special needs people that  believe in this man 100% and after reading this my heart swelled and for a couple minutes i was proud to be an american.

  1. I really admire and respect Tom Landis for what he is doing and I think that other business owners and employers should follow suit. People with special needs deserve every opportunity that people without receive, and what Landis is doing is a step in the right direction. Hopefully, others will follow his example, and by doing so, they will make the world a better place for everyone.

  2. This is such a great opportunity, not only for people with special needs to get jobs, but for the people who shop at this place. Society has spent all of its existence trying to hide those with special needs from the world, but separating them from society only increases the need and creates a stigma. By having an establishment that treats people as legitimate citizens, it's taking the first step in the direction towards truly integrating them into society. There's still an impossibly long way to go but it's good to see things moving in a positive direction.

  3. I absolutely loved reading this article. Knowing that people like Tom Landis exist helps me have a little more faith in humanity. This is such an amazing opportunity for people with special needs! Hopefully people who read/hear about this, will soon adapt to the idea that people with special needs are just human beings and nothing is abnormal about them working in a public place.

  4. I think that's a great idea, it's probably hard enough getting through life with a disability with others thinking of you a "burden" or "liability" when they're just like any other person trying to survive. I hope to see these restaurants take off and change peoples' ideas of special needs people.

  5. Giving the opportunity to others with a daily challenge isn't and shouldn't be a privilege, it should be a legal right. A shame that hasn't been a main focus in our society today.- Cassidy Jones
