Summary: Severed body parts have been found recently in a park near Chicago's New West Side, Garfield Park. A human foot was found a few days ago, and authorities later discovered a head, two hands, and another foot of a child. It is unknown whether the body parts are all from the same child's body. A pathologist began examinations today and the park was closed.
Analysis: When I read my summary to my little sister she responded with "That's terrifying." I am utterly disgusted and can't believe that a story like this even exists. I think the police are doing the best they can, especially since it's true how hard cases involving small children are on everyone involved. I do think it's somewhat strange that the child hasn't been identified yet, I guess I assumed a missing child report would have been filled out by the parents and authorities would have been able to confirm. I suppose it's too soon, and I (obviously) have very little knowledge about the procedure for this kind of stuff is. My heart goes out to the family(or families) that are being personally affected by this horrible situation. I hope justice can be served.

Kenley Turner- This is really scary! People who commit this kind of crime need to be removed from society!!! D:
ReplyDeleteHonestly, this is so terrifying and terrible. It's kind of sad to think that this case might be one of those that go down in infamy. Instead of actually working towards the monster that committed these haneous crimes, the media will spend more time romanticizing the idea. -Emily Eppig 8th period
ReplyDeleteThis story is absolutely horrible. And the worst thing is that it is not unique. Things like this happen way to often. How can one human do something like this to another? It is just unthinkable. If people are going to continue to commit awful and disgusting crimes against others, law enforcement needs to come up with a better way to protect and prevent against situations like this.
