The article talks about how grandparents forgot their 11 month old grandchild in their car. This took place in Georgia, and it was 90 degrees outside. Cars can go up to 172 degrees within 15 minutes when turned off in that weather. The grandparents didn't even realize they forgot the baby until the mother returned and asked where the baby was.
This is really saddening that someone could forget a child in a car. The sadder part is that this is the 19th time a baby has died like this in 2015 alone. I think this article was written to gather attention to this problem. Luckily this gained attention last year after a father left his 2 year old in the car for the ENTIRE DAY.
Why is this important? Babies are dying in a completely avoidable way and anyone that would forget a baby in a car for long enough to kill the baby doesn't deserve said baby.
I already knew about this issue before reading this but i didn't know how many babies have died due to this

I understand that the older you get the more forgetful you become, but I have heard many reports about middle age moms and dad forgetting their children in a car in the hot summer. These deaths could've been avoided easily and it saddens me to know just how many people this has happened to. -Julianne Swaykus
ReplyDeleteI believe that this matter truly deserves more attention than it gets. Sure, you get more forgetful the more your grow, but this is your child. With all of the shenanigans they make you go through, you'd think you'd remember to take them with you when you leave the car after grocery shopping.Truly saddening, as Julianne said.
