Alexis Farrell, 5th Period: Wife, 3 others charged with killing firefighter husband to cover fraud, collect life insurance

Uloma Walker-Curry was charged for an aggravated murder and given conspiracy/felonous assault charges because she slayed her firefighter husband who worked in Cleveland. She manipulated a group of young men to do the killing so that she could take his life insurance to cover up the financial fraud in the husband's name. She asked Chad Padgett to kill her husband and he then recruited his cousin, Christopher Hein, who then recruited Ryan Dorty. The ages of the boys ranged from 21-23. Uluma was arrested last week for her wrongdoings.

Rather than simply asking her husband for life insurance, Uloma decided to kill him so that she could collect the insurance to cover up her financial fraud "without him knowing." I can't believe how utterly selfish a woman could be. Additionally, the man was a firefighter and was saving innocent lives everyday and his wife just took his innocent life. She also kept these 3 boys from having a life in their 20's outside of a jail cell because of her actions. The fact that there are people out there in the U.S./World like this frightens me and will definitely make me more aware of my surroundings from now on.

  1. This like makes me so angry, needing life insurance is no excuse to do something like this, she took it to another level! I mean she killed her husband, took any hope of a family. There were many other ways she could have dealt with this!

  2. The fact that this woman murdered her husband to get his insurance is disgusting. I think this article shows the insane measures people will go to to get money.

  3. Tristin Manus 8th- Greed can overtake you an consume you to do such horrific actions and crimes. The fact this lady had to go to extremes just to get money for life insurance and to cover up her wrong doing is extremely selfish. I could have been so easier to just pay the crime that you have done or ASK your own husband for money.

I find this very sick. I don't see how somebody could value a cash payout over their spouse. I would rather find a way to work though the financial fraud than kill my significant other just to cover it up. And a side note: I don't believe that you can just ask for the life insurance unless it is some form of a Whole Life Plan in which you can cash out early for a tiny portion.
