SUMMARY : Eyesight or energy,
that seems to be the big question for some fish. The Mexican Tetra or blind cavefish as they
are known, live in deep water where it is very dark. The visual system of a fish can require up to
15% of its energy. There are very few
predators and even less food found in the dark deep waters where these fish live,
so why waste the energy for sight. Not
only do they loose their sight, but eventually their eyes as well. Very sparse food supplies is the major
contributor for this happening. This
event brings an entire new discussion to evolution verses God’s work.
Analysis:
Danny Clemens wrote this article for News Discovery in September
2015. It was written in first person
point of view, using other data to support his findings.
This article relates to how evolution is becoming a hot bed
of discussions in colleges on the heels of religion and God being taught in
public or private schools. With evolution sports the ideas that there might
have been something different at work here than just God.
I wonder how much of what is happening to the fish living in
these dark and deep waters is really coincidental or could it really be the
work of God. I believe that God is alive
and well. I see this as a way for fish
to extend their life and save their energy.
This article was possibly written as a testimony that maybe
God does intervene when necessary and that without him, there would not be any
discussion for evolution. We as a country are experiencing a time of turmoil
and tribulations and the timing of this article just might be the wake up call
that some non-believers need.
I feel a closeness to the article’s undertone of God verses
evolution might be saying, because I have recently had a few miracles happen in
my family and I truly believe that it was God’s intervention and his will that
helped the people that were in authority make the difficult decisions that were
made. I also feel that our country is in
need of more church and God than we can imagine. As a believer, I think everyone needs a
little God in his or her life!
