Sgt. Maj. Bennie Adkins received a medal of honor recently. He was honored for the fact that he fought long and hard during a particular battle while in Vietnam in the year 1966. He suffered 18 injuries at Camp A Shau , but kept on fighting for 86 hours. While escaping he carried an injured comrade and was helped by a nearby tiger who was stalking them. The enemy troops were intimidated by it which allowed the others to escape. Adkins is accepting the medal for the lives of those who were lost, both Vietnamese and American.

That man is LITERALLY a trooper. It is amazing that anyone could have done what he did and survived. He is a true hero to our country.
