In Bay Village, Ohio, people were doing the ALS ice bucket challenge just like in any other state. That is, until someone used it to play a prank on an autistic 15 year old boy. His mother was not aware of what happened until she found the video on his phone. He was standing outside of their garage in his underwear when someone from the roof dumped a bucket of murky brown fluid over his head. This fluid contained urine, feces, and spit. After the boy found out what was in the bucket, he was too embarrassed to tell anyone. Now, celebrities such as Drew Carey are offering a reward to anyone who can find the party responsible for the prank.
This article greatly upset me. To twist a cause that is meant to help people into something as crude as this prank is disgusting. But even further, why should someone need a money reward as motivation to turn in the culprit of such an act? I think it’s sad that this reward is necessary. Have we become so greedy as to let the culprits loose until we have our payment?
