During this week President Obama will be making an announcement about his "strategy for confronting Islamic State militants." He will also meet with tghe congressional leaders on Thursday, and on Wednesday he will make a televised address. Obama has already came out and said that the announcement will not be about U.S ground troops, and it is not similar to the Iraq War. "counterterroism campaigns", is what Obama called it, though it makes me wonder if it could turn into another Iraq War. He has given few details, but did say that the U.S would "start going on some offense" against the militant group, known as ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) or ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria)." What I find interesting is that these remarks came at the same time the military expanded its airstrikes in Western Iraq to be protected from the Islamic State targets. Hopefully all goes well, and President Obama can keep another war out of the United State's future!
