Laura Walton, 4th Period Atlanta Hawks Owner to sell after Racist Remarks

Bruce Levenson, the controlling owner of the Atlanta Hawks will be selling his team after an email containing racist remarks surfaced. In his email to the teams General Manager, he stressed that 70% of the audience was Black and 90% of the bar was Black. This email was addressing the topic that not "enough" Caucasians  attended games anymore and that Caucasians were most likely "scared off". Levenson also expressed " I want some white cheerleaders  and music familiar to whites".
The email surfaced recently after Levenson expressed that the NBA should have no tolerance for racism concerning Donald Sterling. After making these comments Levenson reported this email to the NBA headquarters and apologized for his remarks.
"(Levenson) shared with me how truly remorseful he is for using those hurtful words and how apologetic he is to the entire NBA family -- fans, players, team employees, business partners and fellow team owners -- for having diverted attention away from our game," Silver said.

  1. Recently there has been many more racist comments made by team owners. I don't understand why people have to be so negative and ignorant. He definitely doesn't deserve to own a team.
