ALS Ice Bucket Prank

Last night my sister came up to me and starting telling me about this horribly devastating event that had happened a week ago in a very small city called Bay Village located in Northern Ohio. It was so horrifying that I started doing some research on it.
About a week ago a group of high school students played a cruel prank on their 14-year-old autistic classmate. The teens convinced their classmate to do the "ALS Ice Bucket Challenge". Little did the he know that instead of dreadfully cold water inside the bucket was feces, urine, spit, and cigarette buds that was dumped from a roof and on to the special needs teenager. The teens also decided to record the incident happening and upload it to Instagram.
This incident has not been taken lightly by any. The school of the victim and bullies had a pep rally last Friday before their football game, in order to raise awareness of both ALS and the prank against the autistic boy. The Bay Village Police Department vigilantly working to complete their investigation in this case and trying to find the teens who took advantage of the classmate. Also comedian Drew Carey host of the popular game show "The Price is Right" and starred in the comedy "The Drew Carey Show", is donating $10,000 if police in suburban Bay Village want to start a reward fund.
Unfortunately the pranking teens have not been caught and it might be because this incident isn't known by many. We need to spread the word on what happened to try and prevent it from ever happening again. The "ALS Ice Bucket Challenge" is suppose to be raising awareness of Lou Gehrig's Disease and now it was turned into a sick prank.

ReplyDeleteThis is awful, I couldn't imagine anyone being so cruel. My jaw dropped when I read this.. My question is WHY? Why would someone get pleasure in doing this to another person? Makes me mad.

Not only is this prank sick, but those who did it used a charitable cause as a platform to do so. It just makes you wonder what would drive any one to do such a thing.
ReplyDeleteThis is a horrific act that goes beyond the definition of just a "prank". Why anyone would find it funny to do this to someone, regardless of if they have a mental disability or not, is beyond my comprehension. I hope they catch the kids behind this.
