The latest ISIS recruit from Minnesota is a 19-year-old woman who told her family she will be taking care of wounded fighters in Syria. Somali-American leaders say they know of at least two other young women who have also left, and they believe at least 15 Minnesotans are part of at least 100 Americans who have joined ISIS from around the world. No one is sure when the 19-year-old woman left Minnesota for Syria. Two weeks ago her family members reached out to community activist Abdi Bihi. The next night, the family got another call, from Syria. She basically told them that she’s going to help the wounded in the war as a nurse. The family members have reported what they know to the FBI, but that they have no idea when or how she was recruited.
I honestly think the ISIS thing in America is a little funny... I don't understand why people would just drop everything they have in America, abandoning their family, friends, etc. and go abroad to join a terror organization. Living in America, we all have a deep-seated bond over our national pride. I am one of the only people in Texas, who is thirsty to escape our mad sense of unity and community. ISIS is our new age Al-Quaeda and their job is to scare us into thinking that they have real power. It's our job as their targets to rise over their insanity and dethrone them from their imaginary seat of power.

This is very scary. Though many don't want to talk about the possibilities of Americans turning against their own kind, it is happening as we speak (or type). This should be something we discuss as Americans, and families should get more information before their loved ones leave to join terrorist groups. Thank you for the information and hope Obama can settle things before the pot boils over!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that someone would leave to go join a group like this. It's kind of an insult to the people who died in those videos, and to the airmen that fly through Syrian flak to defend their country.
