Nasya King - Marijuana

There has been a recent breakthrough in the laws on marijuana use in those states that have voted to decriminalize and legalize the use of weed for medicinal and recreational purposes. The federal government has finally put in place a set of rules that has been long awaited by these states. Up until now businesses and users have been too afraid to sell/use marijuana. What was the fear about? Well the laws were not necessarily clear enough to know that it was safe to use or sell weed without going to prison on a technicality in the way the plant is handled. All of that has changed now that there is a system in place and the White house has shown it's support of having leniency towards those who are single users of marijuana. Better yet, in those places where marijuana is legal, there have finally been clear guidelines set when involved with the use and sell of marijuana. There are eight priorities that must be avoided in order to stay safe and not have to worry about imprisonment. Although some are very upset and disappointed by the new set of laws, most are happy and feel that it is there constitutional right to have these laws put in place and their views recognized. Especially for those who live in states where the plant is legal. This is one small step towards finally stopping the war against our minorities (mostly blacks) who are imprisoned and exploited for work or killed instead of being able to be educated and possibly becoming the dominant race. Because of course that is what the whole marijuana being illegal thing is about anyway. It is an easy way to put our people back into slavery legally. Marijuana has the most minimally dangerous side affects of any disease curing drug on the market today. It helps those with severe medical conditions and yet it is illegal in 30 states. Whereas big pharmaceutical companies manufacture drugs that cause millions of fatalities, horrible symptoms, and even deformities, everyday. Marijuana can also be used to make paper and cloth. So the illusion that marijuana is some kind of dangerous gateway drug is just that, an illusion. In reality, big companies promoted "gangsta" rappers to talk about shooting killing and stealing, and of course smoking pot. Marijuana is no gateway drug. The true gateway drug and killer is in fact the all around legal cigarettes. The federal action taken is unimpressive and way too long overdue. It is a move they made to try and seem as if they are working toward the cause, when in reality they are trying to make us believe that they are just trying to hold activist over now that they've gotten angry. 1. It's interesting becuase I didn't see all of the positive benefits of marijuana until I read your article. I also liked the fact that you proposed a new argument by stating that “The true gateway drug and killer is in fact the all around legal cigarettes.” Not sure if I completely agree that marijuana isn’t a gateway drug, but I do agree that legal cigarettes are!

  2. I agree with your stance on the policy. This issue is being talked about more and more. I didn't quite understand the part about "dominant race" because I believe in racial equality and hope that my children are born in a country that lives in unity regardless of religion, sexual orientation, or ethnicity. I feel that the nation is moving toward the legalization of marijuana.

  4. I too am unsure what you meant when writing "dominant race," so I feel unable to comment on that particular part of your post. However, I do agree with most of your thoughts. I especially agree that cigarettes are more dangerous then marijuana, considering nicotine is addictive while THC is not. Smoking marijuana can be potentially harmful to ones lungs, but less so than smoking cigarettes, and using marijuana in other ways has no apparent negative consequences. I really enjoyed your post, and I am glad that these new laws were passed

  5. By dominant race i mean the White Race guys. I'm not trying to get into all the theories of race and how there is no equality because the world thrives off of the slave labor of minorities that is still very alive. The exploitation of our prisoners...well i won't get into it but yes the White Race is the dominant one... at least in America which is what I'm referencing.
