Chemical Warfare. Just by the name we can see what the topic of discussion would be. Today Syria faces this problem. They are at war with each other. Brother against brother, father against son. A civil war if sorts, I suppose.
How does this affect the United States you ask? Well President Obama stated today that the United States will be taking action in the Syrian conflict. This will happen as soon as he gets an approval of some sorts from Congress. Obviously there is a lot of controversy about the topic. There are the main to opposing sides of yes and no. I am not going to directly going to give my opinion of the matter but I just want to give some key points to remember.

• Why should we take action? We took action in Iraq.....
• What is taking action? Some people want to believe that a peace treaty will be signed....Peace treaties can lead to wars and in this crazy world we live in today, "War solves Everything"
• Is Syria important to us and Why? Obviously Syria is important to us or we wouldn't care so much. But how do you protect or defend something that is important to you?
Here is my main point. Chemical warfare is nothing to play with. It can wipe out masses and masses of people. It is like a disease, it can affect you, your children, and your children's children. It is a major thing! But, is it really up to the United States to help fix it. I understand the notion that President Obama may just be wanting to stay one step ahead in protecting our country, which I totally support, but when is it good to take that step. When is it good to be proactive and when is it good to just wait until called upon?

  1. I think it may be best for us to wait a little while to see what happens in this situation. Chemical warfare is definitely something we must be very careful with.
