On Sunday morning the president of Planned Parenthood, Cecila Richards spoke at the Las Vegas #powertothepolls rally. Her speech was a wake up call to white women that women of color have made it possible to even have women's marches. She furthered explained that it's up to all women, white, women of color, transgender, and rural and urban women, to save the country from itself.
Richards speech was very inspiring to all women because for so long when women would retaliate, any benefit would only be to white women. This is a huge step in recognizing that white women need to up their game and work as team in order to get what they want. Richards is also inspiring when she mentions the women's marches in 2017 and how they influenced women who are doctors, teacher, and mothers to become activists.
This can be related back to the feminism movement in the 1960's when women first began to voice issues such as sexuality, family, the workplace, reproductive rights, and more.
This article is very well written, and it is interesting on how feminism ties into this, in such an amazing way.
