Delta airlines will be making some changes soon about the ability to bring an emotional support dog or a service animal on the plane. They say that there have been too many incidents regarding not well behaved dogs... Last summer a man was hospitalized after another mans 70 pound dog attacked him. Anyone trying to board with a service pet will have to now show proof 48 hours before that the animal is healthy and vaccinated. There will also be many different steps to bring an emotional support pet.
I do understand and support their decisions to make these safety precautions. It may be the cutest dog on the planet, but you never know where it comes from. It may be very un trained, but there is no way of knowing unless they add these checkpoints. I love animals and totally understand the want to bring them, but you would never want them to harm anyone else.
I just hope these checkpoints don’t hinder the passengers ability to have their necessary support. However, I do like the extra safety precautions added.
ReplyDeleteOlivia Wall- I think that having service animals are very cool and helpful, but I hope they are boarded safely and that they do not cause harm.
ReplyDeleteI agree, that the precautions should be made because I'm sure it'll passenger's minds at ease.
