Harriet Tubman to
Replace Jackson on $20
In 2020, American women will celebrate the
100yr anniversary of the end of women’s suffrage. This will be a huge celebration and now the
treasury department has announced that they will help in the celebration by
putting a woman on the $20. Hamilton will
be replaced with Harriett Tubman. The
woman credited with helping free slaves by using the railroad system in secret.
She helped move slaves from the south to the north to a free life. She was incredible with the bravery that she
showed and how she handled the life that was handed her. She was a woman that everyone admired and
loved.
Analysis:
This article was very upbeat and showcased the right for women to be
recognized and admired in the correct manner which is due for them. The author wrote using facts only about the
decision that the treasury department has disclosed. The group of women who have petitioned to
have a woman put on the twenty-dollar bill by the year of 2020 has done due
diligence in researching who would be the best candidate. The group of women surveyed the public and
invested much time to determine who would be the first woman to grace the U.S.
currency. It was a pretty unanimous
decision to have Tubman be the first woman on the currency.
I am in total
agreement that a woman is due to be immortalized on the U.S. currency that we
now use. Men have been the center of
attention forever on the currency and it is now time to move over and let the
women have their due.
