Recently scientist have discovered 3 potential Earth like planets that are found around 40 light years away orbiting a dwarf star. Two of the planets receive 3 times the amount of radiation from the sun than we do which classifies them as "habitual zones" ( determines how close a planet orbits a star). Scientist believe that two of the planets are very similar to the moon in that one side faces the star constantly, so one side is always day and one side is always night. This could cause a problem if humanity was forced to live there one day.
I think it is good that scientist are researching alternative planets for humans to live on especially if we keep taking advantage of the Earth. Although we won't be able to reach those planets any time soon, it at least gives us time to invent the type of technology we need to get there.
