Elephants last circus act

The elephants at Ringling Bros. will perform their final act this Sunday in Providence, RI. They have been in numerous synchronized dances and have been doing giant tricks for several years. The Ringling Bros. weren't expecting to this day to come for a couple years, but have received so much outcry from animal rights groups. In 2011, the circus was fines $270,000 for violation of Animal Welfare Act. The owners of Ringling Bros., The Feld Entertainment, has said that the elephants will be sent to a Florida Conservation Center by 2018. They will be sending 42 Asian elephants to 200 acres of land in a rural part of Florida.
This announcement is similar to the announcement that SeaWorld made recently. They have announced that they are ending orca breeding and launching new partnerships to protect oceans and marine animals. They are also offering new inspiring natural orca encounters rather than theatrical shows. I think that animal rights groups are making a change to the world and getting their voice heard. If these big companies are changing their successful businesses to protect the animals, soon others will listen and join the movement to save these animals that are endangered or mistreated.
