Florida Crash Leaves 6 Dead // Olivia Gillis P3

Six people, including four children were killed after a car crash on I-95 in Florida late Saturday night. A minivan was having tire issues when it slammed against a median and hit an SUV. Three people died at the scene and three more died at local hospitals. Two are still in critical condition, and one person was released after being treated. The six that were killed and two seriously injured people were passengers in the minivan. The Florida Highway Patrol is still determining as to if any of the eight passengers in the vehicle were wearing seat belts. The interstate was closed for hours after the incident and didn't reopen until 3AM today. The highway patrol is still in the process of notifying all of the victims' loved ones.
This incident demonstrated the importance of following the rules of the road when driving or riding in a car. It is always important to pay attention to small details while driving and to remain alert, especially when driving during the night. Hopefully this story will cause people to focus more on the road while being the wheel, and hopefully the cause behind this terrible incident will be discovered soon.

  1. Accidents are hard to be avoided. You could go as far back to blame Henry Ford for creating the first successful automobile, but ultimately, the gain from cars is far greater than the harms. Thought this is an arguable point, because cars are almost a sort of highly accessible weapon, that kills people every single day.
