summary:
Recently, three Earth-like planets have been discovered, orbiting a dwarf star 40 light years away in another star system. The star is labeled TRAPPIST-1, a star described as barely larger than jupiter, and too dim to be seen by the naked eye through most telescopes. Researcher Michael Gillon was the one to focus his time on this star, and discover these habitual planets orbiting, by luck or by chance. He notes that these planets seem to be in a perpetual state, one side being constant day and the other constant night, and researchers say that although these planets would take millions of years to reach with the technology we have now, they will most likely serve as the leading source of information for life beyond earth.
Analysis:
Among this planets most recent technological escapades has been the development of traveling to space. This has arguably been the most important and unbelievable accomplishment of the centuries, and has opened the doors of possibility to boundless seas of theory and fact. Nothing in history can stand against the almost omnipotent ability to be beyond the earth, and the more we learn the more we realize we know nothing.

The thought of another earth is scary, but it is entirely possible.

ReplyDeleteIt's interesting to learn that there might be a planet just like Earth. I hope one day that scientists can develop someway we can see farther planets than pluto.
ReplyDeleteHonestly I can't wait to see what else the universe has in store, I think that this is the first step in a long series of discoveries.
