Summary***
Born on May 16, 2015, a pair of sisters conjoined at the waist were the first conjoined siblings to receive separation surgery at Driscoll Children's Hospital in Corpus Cristi. I think that this subject is never really discussed and it's actually amazing how these conjoined sisters still seem pretty healthy beside the fact that they are conjoined. I also liked the fact that this specific birth was a historic moment for the Texas Hospital. It seems to me that the family is very proud and hopeful for the surgery and the parents are going to be very accepting and supportive of their children after the final reconstruction process. This could relate to when it became more common for a child to have a single parent. It shows that if the child has all of the attributes of a healthy lifestyle, starting with the parent(s), the child will live a well-grounded life no matter what the condition.
