Soccer star and olympic athlete, Abby Wambach, was arrested for a DUI on Sunday at 2 am. She was arrested in Oregon and then was soon released on her own recognizance. She posted an apology to all of her friends, family and fans on social media, saying that she is taking full responsibility for her actions.
This is not completely odd for an athlete to get caught for something like this. This is very odd that it is someone like Abby Wambach. She is a very strong athlete that seems to be quite apparent to keeping up a good reputation for herself. I was very shocked to hear that she, out of all people, was arrested for a DUI.
Truthfully, I don't understand why this is such a large news story, many people get arrested for DUI. I guess it's special because she's famous but she could have been doing so much worse, granted she could have been responsible instead but at least nobody, to my knowledge, was injured which is better than the outcomes of many DUI incidents.
