Summary: The article I read took place in the Hamilton Zoo in New Zealand. This Sumatran tiger attacked a zookeeper and sadly killed her. Samantha Kudeweh, the zookeeper, had worked there for several years. She loved her job and was in charge of importing and exporting animals, also how they were to be represented. Officials are still investigating and determining how this occurred.
Analysis: This is a rather tragic thing to occur. Police and Authorities are figuring out what prompted the attack. Yet, as sad as this is, some things can't be avoided. After all, this is a wild animal and it's in their nature to hunt and kill. This tiger, Oz, most likely reacted on instinct and in no way contemplated this. Although I do send my condolences to this family.

Such a sad story. These are wild animals that people are working with so they don't know any better. -Julianne Swaykus 6
ReplyDeleteI agree. This death is sad but something must have triggered the tigers instinct. They don't attack unless they feel threatened.
ReplyDeleteI feel like there could be more to this story even though as it stands right now, it seems like a pretty sad death. The tiger was definitely triggered for some reason because although their nature is to hunt and kill, they don't attack unless they feel threatened.

ReplyDeleteSadly yes the tiger killed a zookeeper which is sad and I do feel for the family. But it is a wild animal and you can't expect them to never act out. I believe there is probably more to this though and maybe the zookeeper did not provoke him but something happened to this animal to make it mad. I feel bad for both parties honestly.
