The Impact of Hurricane Katrina Ten Years Later "Randi Thompson"
On August 9, 2005, a deadly Hurricane hit Louisiana. The city of New Orleans was wiped out. Devastation, loss of homes, hunger, flooding, lack of water , sadness, death, etc hit the entire city. Two days ago marked its tenth anniversary. A lot of changes have happened within these past 10 years including the rebuilding of New Orleans. One of the most positive changes was not only the rebuilding of homes, but also the rebuilding of schools. A lot of businesses also began to establish in New Orleans. The movie industry rose tremendously. Not only New Orleans, but the entire state of Louisiana is now closer and stronger than ever !

It's funny how something so tragic can have such positive affects! It's so good to see Louisiana rebuilding after the devistation.

This shows if people stick together, help each other, and stay positive, they will overcome any challenge they are faced with.
ReplyDeleteKatie Schell- I think that the entire community of New Orleans is an amazing role model to us all in this case. They stuck together and built themselves up again. It's truly amazing what people can do when they work together.
ReplyDeleteThis is encouraging news to hear! Natural disasters can be very devastating to life and it often takes a long time to heal the wounds left by one. I am happy to know that New Orleans, (and Louisiana in general) is getting stronger than before due to the amount of support after Hurricane Katrina. - Nicole Chatham 6th period
