Most people have already heard about clerk Kim Davis being jailed for refusing to issue a marriage license to a same-sex couple in her hometown of Rowan County, Kentucky, and how she was recently released from jail on Tuesday the 8th, but news to many came in the report that rock band Survivor, who wrote the song Eye of the Tiger (featured as the theme song for Rocky III), is suing Davis and her supporter, politician Mike Huckabee, for a whooping $1,200,000 for the unlicensed use of their song, which was played outside the jail Kim Davis was leaving from upon her release. Former lead vocalist Jim Peterik and current lead guitarist Frankie Sullivan, who co-wrote the song, spoke out against the song being played on Twitter and Facebook with the statements "I have not authorized the use of Eye of the Tiger for use by Kim Davis and my publisher will issue a C&D (Cease and Desist order). This does not reflect my views." (Peter on Twitter) and "
NO! We did not grant Kim Davis any rights to use "My Tune -The Eye Of The Tiger." I would not grant her the rights to use Charmin!
C'mom Mike, you are not The Donald but you can do better than that -
See Ya really SoooooooonnnnnnN!!!!!!...
FS" (Sullivan on Facebook). Oddly enough, after refusing to issue the marriage license, being imprisoned for it, illegally using Eye of the Tiger, and again asking for a delay on same-sex marriage licenses being issued, she is still being allowed to return to work tomorrow at the Rowan County Clerk of Court.
