Archaeologists have recently discovered a "superhenge" about two miles away from the famous Stonehenge. Radar technology revealed the existence of these far more massive stone monuments; however archaeologists are unsure how plausible it will be to try and excavate these monuments. This discovery is important as it reveals much about this prehistoric European society that was previously unknown. The placement of these structures reveals the neolithic architecture formed a "c" shape. The superhenge shows that stonehenge was not isolated like they once thought, but an extensive and complex ceremonial landscape for this people. This discovery shows the ancient group who created these monuments were more developed and had more largely advanced architecture than ever observed in these people before.
