Same sex struggle for marriage license-Nicholas Watson, 9th

Summary:
Within the last 14 months the Supreme Court has been a debate on how to deal with allowing same-sex marriage while also respecting the police of other people. Although on this one particular case, or County Clerk (Kim Davis) denied a gay couple a marriage license the court has finally said that her religious beliefs  could not continue to deny the newly amended right, unlike last year's Hobby Lobby decision, Kim's case was much different. After being put in jail on Thursday for defying the courts decision Aander goes on to say that Kim shouldn't have let her religious beliefs mix in with her work, because she did indeed work for the state, as an elected official, and was required to uphold the state laws.

Analysis:
This article was written by Aander Madhani from USA TODAY. After reading this article I feel like, yes, people should be able to love who they want to, but I also think if people have certain beliefs pertaining to the religion they should also have a right to express them. My problem is, not only about the certain scenario but others pertaining to the same conflict, that these couples who want to marriage license are almost waiting for the clerk to say no so they can hit up The press, police etc. that's waiting on their speed dial, when in reality it would be much easier to go to another county courthouse and avoid conflict altogether. Although I do understand that these people have just as much of a right to marriage as anyone else and that they will fight to be treated like everyone else.

I find this very interesting since here we find the struggle of religion versus law. We are told that we have freedom of religion but our views sometimes may also conflict with the law that is set before us. I read another article about a Muslim flight attendant being fired after she refused to serve alcohol since it was against her religion. I most definitely agree with what you said about how the couples just need to go to another courthouse to avoid conflict.
