For the first time, company owner faces life sentence for food poisoning outbreak.
This article is about a peanut butter company who has recently been accused of the death of 8 people who have eaten their peanut butter. The company's peanut butter is said to be laced with deadly salmonella. The owner of the company will have a final trial on Monday, he could face up to 17 years to life in prison for this outbreak.
Analysis: This is terrible that such a thing had to happen from an accident that could have been avoided. I believe if the workers at this peanut butter factory would have inspected and payed just a little more attention to detail, this wouldn't have happened. I agree that the owner should be punished but I don't know to what extent. This article can relate back to the colonial days when people would get sick and die all the time from what they ate, because they didn't know the proper way to prepare food. BUT we do today and we should always be attentive to what we do.

This problem could have easily been solved if the production of the peanut butter was more carefully monitered. It's terrible this ended with the death of 8 people. I agree the company owner should face punishment.
