The article talks about how a twenty year old man from Florida was accused by the FBI of planning to bomb a 9/11 memorial. The article is filled with sufficient information showing that the man did try to plan a memorial bombing. He sends emails back and forth with another man who he had asked to make and place the bomb at a memorial. Towards the end of the article it talks about how the man said he was planning to call the police before it went off, to get credit.
I think this article is important because it shows us that it is not all necessarily over. Many people still disagree with our beliefs, and will go to extreme lengths to discourage us. This also shows how far people can go for their "ten minutes of fame." This is extremely relevant to us now, as other news reports show that their are still disagreements with how we commemorate the lives lost in the attack.

Its good that he was stopped. 9/11 is a very harrowing event- fresh in many American's minds, and very real still. I just hope that the U.S can find a way to preserve its liberties without taking away others, as if it could be justified under a necessary sacrifice for the prevention of terrorism. Like the loss of privacy, or republican's cold-hearted refusal to acknowledge the Syrian refugee crisis and their need for asylum.
ReplyDelete9/11 was a horrible thing that happened in our history and is something that none of us will truly get over because of how awful it was. it impacted us as Americans because all of sudden it felt like we had no safety. i believe that there is still a lot of things that are not over. we need to understand that anything can happen at anytime and america is not exempt from threats.
ReplyDeleteThis was a tragic moment in history. This day will never be forgotten. Anything could happen at anytime. That's why we need to live everyday like it's our last day. -Kayleigh Smerud
