Summary:
A mother, a newborn baby, and a pastor were shot at an Alabama church on Sunday and the father, James Junior Minter (26), is in custody. Currently, he is facing three counts of attempted murder. This all began when Minter walked in and sat next to his child and the mother. He started to shoot. The shooting was all directed towards the mother, possibly the baby too. The pastor was only involved when he tried to take the gun from Minter. Supposedly, he fled the scene, but was captured by the police half a mile later. The baby and mother were sent to Birmingham due to the need of immediate medical attention. As for the pastor, he is at a local hospital in Selma.
Analysis:
I think this is quite disturbing. I wonder what was Minter's motive to shoot the mother of his child as well as his own child. I feel that the father killing the mother wouldn't be anything new, but to shoot his baby in the hand, I just don't know what could have triggered Minter to go to that extent. I also find it odd that he would choose to commit this crime in broad daylight, at church, and wait until everyone was seated to proceed. In addition, did the mother not notice any signs of what was to come? I know she must've had a bad feeling or notice Minter had a gun maybe?
This is extremely scary to me because people have no discrepancy these days. The man supposedly shot his NEW BORN, mother of the child, and a pastor, in a CHURCH! no respect at all, and i am praying for the relatives of their families.

This is devastating news especially for me personally since I come from a religious family. Also it's really disturbing and heart breaking to know that people aren't safe at churches any more.

ReplyDeleteA church is supposed to be a safe place for people and this man completely disrespected that. Also, he purposefully shot his own new born child. How cruel.
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy how churches nowadays are becoming places where crime takes place. I'm honestly not surprised that the mother was shot, but a newborn baby, that was his own? That's new to me.
