Summary: On Vashon Island, Washington, it was reported by the state animal shelter that a dog stood guard for almost a week to protect another dog that had fallen. Analysis: It's remarkable that the two dogs were able to survive on their own for that long after having been domesticated, and also that Tillie didn't leave Phoebe's side, but instead stayed and tried to get her help. I'm glad that the dogs are okay and that they were able to get the help they needed before it was too late. I bet their owners are happy, too!!
