California is in it's fourth year of drought, the lack of moisture has made the wildlife dry and crispy, perfect for spreading wildfires. The Valley Fire is about 100 miles north of San Francisco and has spread about 50,000 acres so far. About 20,000 people have evacuated and 1,000 homes and businesses have been consumed. California is also having problems in the Butte area as more wildfires rage there. Together they, the Valley Fire and Butte Fire, have ravaged about 130,000 acres and displaced thousands of residents.
This is quite a problem and there's not much that we can do, weather is one of those things that we don't have control over but we have the technology to track it and ability to prevent some wildfires that are made by us being careless. I think I can relate to the California wildfires to some extent seeing as we live in Texas, another precipitation challenged state. This incident reminds me of when Texas was in a large drought for about five years and having wildfires pop up everywhere and anywhere. I hope that we're able to get the flames under control and recover.

i agree with you. its sad that the environment is not really something we have full control over. a lot of things happen out of nowhere and sometimes we just have to find a way to deal with it. i also hope that we can find a way to stop these fires from spreading.
