Naguib Sawiris, an Egyptian billionaire, has said that he would like to buy an island as a safe haven for refugees. Many dismissed the idea as ridiculous, but he has now found two privately owned Greek islands that he would like to buy. He has plans to build a port and employ 100,000 to 200,000 refugees to build houses, hotels, and schools. He hopes to start it up with a joint-stock company so the company and island can grow. He is currently negotiating with the islands' owners and the Greek government.
While this exact idea hasn't been done before, large groups, like the Puritans, have settled in new areas with the help of joint-stock companies. I think this is an excellent way for people to donate and invest money at the same time. It's nice to see the someone taking action, when so many of the wealthy are doing little to help.

This is an awesome idea! I hope he does it and I hope he's successful. And he can manage everything. It's like making a Sims city. Kind of.
