Bernie Sanders Admits He's "Stunned" By Rise In Polls
by Tristin Manus, 8th period
Summary: Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont is stunned by the recent rise in polls of the 2016 Democratic presidential polling. Sanders believed his message seeped into the Americans but didn't actually believe that they would respond so quickly. Sanders was a percentage ahead of former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton in Quinnipiac poll in Iowa and has moved ahead of her in New Hampshire. Sanders in all of his speeches speaks about the unbalance in social class, education, etc. Bernie quotes, " And the message is there's something wrong in this country when the great middle class continues to disappear. Almost all new income and wealth goes to the top percent when millions of families cant afford to send their kids to college when we are not addressing the planetary crisis of climate change". Sanders said the controversy over the private email system Clinton used as secretary of state is “clearly not helping her” but that he feels he’s doing very well because the issues he’s addressing are important and needs to be said.
Analysis: I truly believe and have hope that Bernie Sanders can possibly be the next president of the united states of America. Bernie is stating controversial problems that are needing to be addressed and the American people are clinging to that. Sanders understands the ongoing problems unlike the other candidates who use their money to pay their way through the election and race ( Donald Trump). I believe he will make America economically, socially and politically outstanding.
