5 dead in apparent murder-suicide in Minnesota: Samantha Arthur 1st period

An entire family of 5 died from what police are calling "apparent murder-suicide". The bodies were found on Thursday in their house near Lake Minnetonka in Minnesota--after having gone to the house for a welfare check. The deceased haven't been named, but the bodies have been identified by other sources: Brian and Karen Short, two daughters and one son. Even though the case is said to have had no real affect on/there was no danger for the public, police are speechless.

I'd be speechless too if I were the police. Suicide is already awful to begin with, but to include your family members makes it 10x worse. You hear about these situations in books or you see them in movies, but no one ever really thinks about these kind of things happening in real life. Suicide awareness needs to become more of a trending topic. It's impact on people's lives can be truly devastating.

  1. This is awful! I agree with you, suicide awareness should be more of a thing. It seems like this could have been prevented somehow
