"Experts Reject Official Account of How 43 Mexican Students Were Killed" by Paulina Villegas
Last fall, 43 Mexican students went missing on their way to a demonstration. The Mexican government says that the students were executed by a drug gang who then cremated them, however, evidence shows that the government was aware of the condition of the students and their whereabouts at the time of their disappearance. Thousands of Mexican people are outraged at the government for lying about these students and, before evidence of their death arose, demanded that they be returned in the same condition they were taken in- alive.
The Mexican government is clearly far from perfect. It's even far from being alright. Nobody can tell wether the president, Pena Nieto (or others in power), was elected fairly, or if he was put in power by drug lords, or anybody else with a lot of money. The fact that 43 students vanished "mysteriously" comes as no surprise to many, and neither do the lies stated by the government in order to cover up their wrong doings. In this day and age, it's ridiculous that so many people can be killed without hesitation for no good reason, and nobody can do anything about it.

I wonder if the Mexican government is pro-drug lords- Kenley Turner
ReplyDeleteIt's ridiculous what the government will do to keep it's corruption covered up.
ReplyDeleteIts a shame that this has been going on since last year and the government refuses to acknowledge it. (Alejandra Hernandez 6th period)

ReplyDeleteThe fact that the government lied about the whereabouts of 43 students and were not questioned shows how scary their power is. It is such a shame that these kids were killed and I really feel for their poor families who don't even know what really happened to them. Such a shame :/
It is heartbreaking to see how ruthless and devastating people will be just for the sake of money and power. The government is obviously incredibly corrupted right now and definitely needs a revival that washes it clean of its corrupted and selfish powers and replaces them with passionate and genuine people who care about the wellbeing of their country and its citizens.
