NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will start to work with 4 women on the development and implementation of the league's policies on domestic violence and sexual assault. After a disturbing week for the NFL, Anna Isaacson, Lisa Friel, Jane Randel, and Rita Smith will come together and come up with solutions to this never-ending problem. Fourteen players have been arrested for violence against women in the last two years, a Sports Illustrated article last week reported. "Anything that we can do as an NFL community that will be effective to raising awareness on this serious issue is a good thing," - George Atallah of the NFL Players Association.
It is important that someone is stepping up to the plate and willing to stop this issue. Violence against women and children will never be okay. Most young boys look up to the big stars in the big sports' leagues. We can't have them thinking or inspiring them that violence is something to get away with.
