Obama is avoiding the current issue regarding immigration in order to avoid grandstanding the voting polls. however Obama is considering  an expansion of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.effectively allowing immigrants brought to the country illegally as children to stay without fear of deportation and apply for work permits if they meet certain standards.
