PA State Trooper dies in shooting - Olivia Lambert - 3rd Period
Last Friday, two Pennsylvania state police officers, Cpl. Bryon K. Dickson and Trooper Alex T. Douglass, were shot at 10:50pm last Friday. Douglass was in terrible condition while Dickson was killed. Turns out the officers had no time to prepare for defense, for the shots happened quick. As stated in the article, Gov. Tom Corbett says that any attack on an officer is an attack on the state and to the society. Police officers make up our society and if they aren't here to protect our society, that takes an effect. No one has any evidence of who shot the officers, yet police from New York and New Jersey are in help for search. The police have presented a reward of $20,00 for any information on who did the shootings.
It is so terribly upsetting to hear that these officers were shot. It doesn't matter who shot them, it goes down to the fact that they were both trying to make Pennsylvania a safer place by doing their job of catching criminals. They both had families and lives of their own and to be shot without any warming must have been horrifying. This event shows the reader of this article that anyone's life can be taken away at any moment. Unexpectedly, these officers lost their lives. They didn't see it coming. This is why we should live life to the best we can each day because no one knows when their last day is.
