On Friday evening shots rang through the crowd as a drunk narcotics officer let loose some slugs into the crowd. After hitting a 31-year-old woman in the ankle and a 42-year-old man in the calf, the officer was swarmed by plainclothes officers and arrested. They are still running a full investigation into whether or not the shooting was pre-determined or accidental.
The fact that an investigation into the purpose of an officer shooting civilians is actually happening is disturbing on so many levels. Officers are brought in to protect the people and it seems like now, the only thing they do is endanger us.

I agree when you say it's very disturbing! The police are becoming more of threats than protectors in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteThis is another example of the police being dangers to society! How disappointing that our nation's guardians are becoming threats.

Being an officer and wearing the uniform comes with the responsibility of power, and commitment to maintaining the law. When a cop uses his power with a lack of responsibility, such as drinking and then injuring civilians, it is a very scary situation...hopefully this is a warning and police departments will do something to fix this issue.
ReplyDeleteIt's a real eye opener because you can't always trust people that have a uniform or symbol that is well known. We all have to be constantly careful in this crazy world. I hop police learn from this incident so it never happens again.

The police are just as scary as the stranger next door. You can't trust anyone, it's a sad society we live in.

I hope this man is treated like a criminal and not like a police officer in the court of law. I don't think we should have people enforcing laws they cannot themselves abide by.
