Leaked Celebrity Photos, Hadassah Lai

Recently, a hacker hacked into celebrities' phones and computers and leaked their personal and explicit nude photos online. This is considered a serious offense. Celebrities were enraged and demanded to have them taken down immediately. They also took to social media to bash this hacker, defending themselves and saying that he had no right to post the photos. Police are on the search for this man, tracking down his posts from the internet. Previous instances included a man who hacked and leaked photos from a celebrity. He was sentenced to 10 years in jail for invasion of privacy. These type of things could easily destroy someone's reputation as damage someone's life. The predicted sentence for this man is also about 10 years.

  2. Isn't it funny how when something like this happens to celebrities, everyone is disgusted and shocked NOT because of celebrities taking nudes (which they have the right to do, their body their choices) but because oh my god, some creep stole nudes! In reality, if this were to happen to a normal person they'd be shamed and harassed because they should've known the consequences when taking nudes and the police wouldn't even bat an eyelash. 4. whats the point of exposing someone's secrets and personal things to the world, it just seems rude and vulgar ( vulgar because he posted the nudes). it just such an invasion from one's personal life. (sharon cordon 4th period)

  5. Adding to Azra's point, I hope that this opens people's eyes to the criminal nature of this act, and certainly not just for celebrities. People can make their own choices of how to appreciate their nude figures, whether this is by photographing them or sharing them only with their partners in the privacy of their own home. However, this does not give anyone the right to view them without permission or post them on the internet. This applies to all people. These celebrities and countless other men and women whose privacy has been violated are the victims and should not be treated as criminals of outcasts. Please bear this in mind if this is ever to occur closer to home.

  6. I was shocked when I heard this news. Technology can be great, but when is it too much?

  7. This invasion of privacy is awful, people have no limits to what they will do and have no care if they take down someone else in the process. While the celebs shouldn't have put those pics on a computer anyway, it is still a major invasion of privacy and raises questions about security.

  8. This kind of exposure and harassment towards people is outrageous. Azra is correct in saying that if it were not celebrities being harassed, there would not be half as much publicity towards this, and those people would likely be reprimanded for even having nude pictures. People make their own choices, and it's no ones place to expose those choices, unless actually detrimental to many others.

  9. What do you think about the right to privacy? Have there been any issues with privacy in the past that you could relate this story to?
