Kurdish Ship Missing- Lauren Kuehmeier, Period 2

This weekend a Kurdish ship carrying one hundred million dollars worth of oil supposedly disappeared 60 miles from its destination Galveston, Texas. The ship vanished from the United States Coast Guard's radar. There was much dispute over the oil beforehand, the Kurdish claimed it was theirs but Iraq claimed ownership over it too. Iraq became very frustrated when U.S coastguards would not do anything to stop the oil from coming to Galveston. They even filed a lawsuit but that was quickly put to rest because we had nothing to do with the situation. Iraq's anger and dispute over ownership makes us point to them if anyone. Of course, it is very possible that pirates could have taken control of the ship to steal the oil and sell it off.

Stealing of ships and their cargo happens often around the world. I think this is because it is difficult to put a stop to, so it's easy to get away with.  Offenders often end up repeating their crimes. Pirates have figured out ways to block radar signals which is why the Kurdish ship "vanished". Who stole the ship is yet to be figured out but I think Iraq's dispute over the oil points us to the answer.
