Ice Bucket Challenge goes to far - Trevor Haueisen 6th

A 15-year-old boy in Bay Village, Ohio was publically embarrassed when a group of teenagers thought it'd be good idea to surprise the boy with an Ice Bucket Challenge. This isn't that bad, right? Many of you probably surprised your friends the same way, or even took the challenge your selves. The only difference is their bucket wasn't filled with ice, or even water. It was filled with urine, spit, and feces. Also, the kid they dropped it on was autistic. They used his phone to film it and post it on Instagram. The video of the prank shows the teen standing outside a garage door in his underwear when all of a sudden someone from the rooftop dumps a bucket of murky brown fluid over his head. After comedian Drew Carey heard of this awful prank he tweeted "If the Bay Village PD wants to start a reward fund to find who did this, contact me. I'll donate $10k." Bay Village was where Carey grew up and where the show "The Drew Carey Show" was based.

I believe the way Carey is reacting to this is pretty admirable and that what the teens did to this autistic boy was horrible. The writer probably agrees with that statement. He must have heard this story and thought it was depressing enough to write an article about so people can learn of what those teens did and help to catch them. This article is also very relevant to us right now. Many of us participated in this Internet fad, but I think we can all agree that this was too far.

  1. This is absolutely disgusting, the entire point of the ice bucket challenge is to help the disabled not harm them. These teens should be held accountable for their actions.

  2. This is horrifying to me. I cannot believe those teens could do something so vicious. I hope they are identified and held accountable. I cannot comprehend how anyone would think this was a good or funny idea. In no world is that even remotely acceptable.

  3. Who does this!? Some people are just terrible! It saddens me to think that people have no compassion or common sense.

  4. i find this totally disgusting that some people out there find joy in doing such a terrible thing to another person. This should not be allowed; and also ties in the subject of bullying.
