Phoenix, Arizona has fallen victim to
severe flooding due to extreme rains. Water reaching heights of twelve feet high
has engulfed the city. Reportedly, part of Interstate 15 has been swept
completely away and people on their daily commute to work were stranded in
their cars on Interstate 10. As of now, there has only been one casualty. A
women passed away after being trapped inside of a car that was swept away by
the water before firefighters could reach her.
Unfortunately, the high waters began
their rising during the night and alot of people were unaware of the severely
unsafe travel conditions. Because of Hurricane Norbert in Mexico, the
Arizonians are receiving the back end of the storm. Quite a few people are left
without power and the number is only expected to keep growing. By Monday night,
the storms had stopped, but they can resume at any point in time.
This is really sad and frightening to
hear about. I pray all the people effected stay safe.

It really is scary to see just how much the water's risen, and hopefully there won't be any more casualties.

The world is a very strange place. California is having extreme drought while this is happening only one state over! It is very tragic to see people's homes, lives, and vehicles being devastated, but also a bit scientifically intriguing.

ReplyDeleteThat's terrible! It's especially scary how that woman died. Imagine being in her position being trapped and having no way out! I hope this natural disaster doesn't go too out of hand.
